The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival in partnership with SPAR brings you THE JUNIOR CHEF COOK-OFF. This is a tasty platform for budding young chefs to pursue their passion for cooking and enrich their palates alongside international culinary experts. It not only cultivates talent but shows young people what is possible in the world of gastronomy.

Young people aged 10-16 are encouraged to apply for a chance to compete against each other at the Luju festival, under the guidance of Chef Pete Goffe-Wood. Simply download the form below and submit it to curator@house-on-fire.com or drop it off at the Gallery at House on Fire in Malkerns.

Deadline for submission is the 20th of July, after which shortlisted individuals will be invited to a cook off on the 27th of July. Two aspiring young chefs will be selected to vie for the coveted title of Luju Junior Chef 2019 during a culinary showdown at the festival, facilitated by renowned braai master and chef Pete Goffe-Wood, and will receive prizes to the value of E2000!

The selection criteria will require that applicants submit on their application form a recipe taking no more than 30 minutes to make and using 3-10 ingredients that include honey and a dairy product.
