About Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival

A unique celebration of the tastes, smells, sights and sounds of eSwatini and surrounds, the Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival is a sensory experience unlike any other. Now in its 2nd year, the festival promises to continue celebrating the diverse and often hidden tastes, smells and flavors of Southern Africa with an authentically African rooted program.

In 2018, we returned to our past: inspired by the sophisticated and elegant style of women in the 60’s as they swayed to the sounds of Miriam Makeba’s ‘pata pata’; moved by the energy and rhythms of Fela Kuti, soundtrack to the indomitable spirit of colonial & post-colonial resistance: African Vintage.

This year, the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival will embrace the theme: A return to the African Future. A return to self, a return to a time when we respected the soil, treading lightly with bare feet. Bearing witness to a mysterious future through the cosmos above, that nurtures our livelihood through a cycle of fruitful seasons. A time when our hands sowed seeds of an abundant harvest, hope and love. Seeds that bare roots, barks, leaves and fruits we chew to heal our bodies.

The Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival will feature cooking demos and master-classes by seasoned chefs in the region, the best in African fashion, design and arts, as well as some exciting music and comedy performances by artists from Eswatini, South Africa, Mozambique and beyond.

Set on the lavish lawns of the House on Fire Sculpture Garden against a breath-taking backdrop of endless cane fields and rolling hills, this is a day not to be missed for any food enthusiasts, culture buffs and travellers looking for a unique and sophisticated African-vintage styled event celebrating the local, the wholesome, the creative, and the delicious.
